Ihiagwa Association, London

CHIEF GEORGE CHEZ. ONYEAGOR Onwa na’gbara Oha 1 of Ihiagwa

Ihiagwa Progressive Association,London,UK, is the coming together of all progressive Ihiagwa sons, daughters and nde nwanwa in September 2007 (thanks to Chief George Onyeagor, Pat. Ekechi and Ibe Azonwanna) with the common aims of (i) promotion and maintenance of unity amongst members, (ii) support and encourage the welfare of members, (iii) create and enhance the social, economic and educational development of Ihiagwa Town and (iv) promote cultural awareness amongst the Ihiagwa Community in the UK.

IPA since then has grown from strength to strength in membership, love, thought, etc. On behalf of IPA membership I offer an unreserved thanksgiving to our Almighty God for continuing to keep and bless I.P.A,London.

Ladies and gentlemen, I can confirm that IPA has given/offered the progressive sons and daughters in UK the platform and opportunities to reflect on the political, educational, cultural and socio-economic issue affecting Ihiagwa people, with the view of making Ihiagwa a better and safe town, not only for Ihiagwa people, but for everyone living in Ihiagwa as a cosmopolitan town. With the coming of FUTO and Ihiagwa developing very fast, and losing serenity, it has become difficult to govern Ihiagwa with the social vices associated with developing towns.

IPA therefore, intends to support HRH, Eze J.O Muruako JP, Akawelitaramba 1 Nnaochie 11 of Ihiagwa, and the Central Executive Council, Ihiagwa in whatever way that we can in the governance of Ihiagwa to ensure peace, progress and development of Ihiagwa.

It is in the light of the above that IPA UK has decided to answer a clarion call from home and have renovated a block of Five (5) classrooms forIhiagwaSecondary Schoolat the cost of One million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N1, 600,000.00).

I will like to use this opportunity to thank the traditional ruler of Ihiagwa, HRH Eze Sir J.O. Muruako Jp Akawelitaramba, Nnaochie 11 of Ihiagwa and the President General of Ihiagwa Central Executive Council, Ihiagwa Welfare Association {IWA} Chief Engr. Emeka Udokporo, Omekannaya 1 and his council for the wonderful work they are doing in Ihiagwa, especially in the areas of peace and general reconstruction of Ihiagwa.

Permit me to use this medium to congratulate our illustrious daughter and the Treasurer of I.P.A, London, UK councillor Pat Ekechi who was elected as a councillor into one of the wards in Enfield,  in last May 2010 election in England. May the good Lord that made it possible for you to win, give you HIS wisdom to excel in your duties. I Once more thank HRH, Eze Sir J.O. Muruako JP, Akawelitaramba 1, Nnaochie 11 of Ihiagwa for accepting my recommendation to confer the chieftaincy title of Ada eji eje mba 1 Of Ihiagwa to this deserving daughter.

The Membership of IPA London congratulates their dedicated and beloved members Dr. C.I. Okoro and Cllr. Pat Ekechi who are deservedly being confered with chieftaincy titles today.
